Wild Fires And Atmospheric Memories

Mimi Ferebee has a passion for hiking that has taken her and her husband Melvin on month-long treks in the USA as well as France, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Canada. On one of her hikes, she came upon a Canadian orphanage, an event that helped lead her into working with a staff of volunteers in writing and publishing literary material for raising funds to help students learn better skills in reading English and composition. The group has helped at-risk youth in ten countries.

A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Ferebee received degrees in both English (creative writing and literature) and psychology (behavioral and developmental science). She recently retired from a career as a clinical therapist to pursue her  passions of literary mission-work, writing, and editing. She serves as editor-in-chief of Red Ochre Press, overseeing the print publications  Red Ochre LiT, RoLiT News, and Black&White.
